This is the must have Morse book. Hardback (weighing nearly 1kg) and beautifully illustrated throughout the 224 pages this book does indeed provide an illustrated guide to the world of Oxford’s famous detective. There are all the normal sections one would expect such as Old Oxford and New Murders, Dons and Quadrangles, Pubs and Hotels but most pleasing to see is that the author has ventured outside Oxford to the surrounding countryside including Bath, Stamford, London, Keswick and even Dordrecht!

There is also an interesting look at other literary characters associated with Oxford and an excellent compendium of facts, figures and useful addresses.

Cliff Goodwin must be congratulated on this superb title which was originally released in September 2002.
