In 2000 historian John Godwin gave a talk to Society members on the murder of Christina Collins, which gave Colin Dexter inspiration for his book, The Wench is Dead. John has written his own booklet, ‘The Murder of Christina Collins on the Trent and Mersey Canal at Rugeley’ which chronicles the real life murder. This 38 page, A5, booklet with card covers is illustrated throughout and makes fascinating reading. The similarities between Colin’s book and the actual murder are clear to see. A must for any historian, lover of canals, or Inspector Morse enthusiast €5 | ||||||||
