The 1999 Expedition To Bath

It has been suggested that, rather than return to Oxford for a full weekend of events next year, the society goes further afield. The current proposal is to take a coach from London to Bath on the Saturday, and stay overnight in Bath, and return to London on the Sunday via Oxford. Possible places to visit would be the true location of Inspector Morse’s house in Ealing, a certain Mark II Jaguar, the church associated with SERV, the cricket pitch used in DECE and Marlow. If feasible, accommodation could be arranged at the rather exclusive hotel used in the filming of NEIG and a lunch taken in Oxford (possibly a return visit to the Trout or Randolph). There would of course be the usual round of pubs, and it would be hoped to persuade Colin Dexter to participate along with some other personality associated with Inspector Morse.

Full details will be given in the next newsletter, but your opinions are sought now on whether this sort of weekend would be appreciated by members.
