| Editorial Welcome to this second, much delayed, issue of Endeavour, which I hope you will think was worth the wait. I must thank all those members who have been so generous with time, articles and financial offerings. Special mention must go to both M. C. Black and Julie Mellowes who have helped with editing this newsletter, and Philip Attwell who has submitted several articles for this edition. I am happy to say that members have been so generous that there are now enough contributions, and finances, for a further newsletter. As members know from the back page the Society is free to join, but survives on donations. However, for the moment the Society is in fine shape so further contributions from those who have already been active in this area are not required. Naturally, if you are new to the Society then a contribution, however small, would be most welcome. Indeed one member even donated a substantial number of envelopes, which have all been put to good use. It has been a busy year for the world of Morse too. The latest television adaptation (WENC) is about to be broadcast, and there is promise of a further book. I have reports that the Inspector Morse exhibition, which has been touring the country, has been a great success. The society had a very enjoyable weekend in Oxford last August, and has gained various publicity in the media from newspaper articles to radio interviews. There are two new items of merchandise – the re-released Mark II Jaguar from Corgi, and a specially commissioned tea towel – which it is hoped members will purchase. As ever Colin Dexter has given the Society great support, and it has been particularly nice to meet many of our members across the world over the past few months. In conclusion, I would like to thank you all for your support and encouragement. | | |
