The Oxford Of Inspector Morse

By Antony Richards & Philip Attwell

Not a new publication since it is now in its seventh edition but the authors were delighted when it was cited by Blackwell’s as being number six on their Bestseller’s List (factual) in the May 2004 edition of Oxfordshire Living. Also mentioned, but not on the list, was the superb and sumptuous Inspector Morse Country, by Colin Goodwin which remains the definitive, and most beautifully illustrated, work on the areas of Oxford (and outside) most associated with Morse and Lewis.

The author of the book did present a copy for review, but has subsequently (under threat of legal action) instructed that no review of this work should appear in this newsletter. Hence all we can say is that the book is of the same title of that above, 226 pages in length, and costs £12. It is published by Location Guides and deals with the films, locations and history of Oxford.

As normal the author was approached with a view to providing copies to members at a discount but has declined. We will leave it to members to make up their own mind about this book, which is available to order from most bookshops (ISBN 0-9547671-0-1).
