| Inspector Morse - The Exhibition The exhibition started life in the Museum of Oxford but, for those who missed it while in Oxford, I can inform you that it has now gone on tour. It will be visiting Abingdon (12/12/97-8/3/98), Woodstock (4/5/98-7/6/98), Redcar (27/7/98-6/9/98), Chorley (17/9/98-1/11/98) and Grantham (14/11/98-31/12/98). The exhibition takes a look at Morse’s world - a simple world of three main components. First, Collegiate Oxford, the world of the University and all that that world influences here in Oxford - education, tourism, medicine, religion, the hanger-on, and the “academic style” of things here. Second the often powerful non-academic people and interests which impact upon this cosy academic world: the publishing and brewing magnates, the motorway engineers, the crime barons, the very rich, the very poor. Finally there are the police: Morse’s employers, with their legal and medical adjuncts, who are repeatedly called in to sort it all out. The exhibition includes Morse’s office at Thames Valley Police, an account of his police activities, Morse’s sitting room in North Oxford - his favourite books, his music.
