‘An Encyclopaedia of Oxford Pubs, Inns and Taverns’ covers over 700 licensed premises, from early Norman times to the present day. It contains full details of their individual histories, and often a history of the area or street.

The book is 128 pages with black and white illustrations of many of the public houses listed, including most of the places frequented by Morse. Published in 1998 by The Oakwood Press at £8.95 this book is now hard to find.

A fascinating read for those interested in public houses and/or the history of Oxford.
